A faithful React remake of the classic Minesweeper, built for my brother's web replica of Windows XP.
Overview
Minesweeper is a React remake of the classic desktop game, built to live inside my brother's web replica of Windows XP. It was a side project first and foremost, an excuse to rebuild one of the PC games from my childhood on the web and to see how close to the original I could get.
Under the hood
The goal was faithfulness, so I paid attention to the details that make Minesweeper feel like Minesweeper, the classic grid, the numbered cells and their colors, the flags, and the reveal. It is a self contained React app designed to drop straight into my brother's XP desktop, so it behaves like one more window on that little recreated operating system.
